MANILA, Philippines — Department of Labor and Employment job fairs placed more than 1,800 job seekers into work on the spot nationwide, underscoring the government’s push to speed up hiring and connect workers with employers more directly.

DOLE used the job fairs to deliver immediate employment opportunities and cut delays between application and hiring, officials said.

The agency brought together employers from multiple sectors and matched them with applicants whose skills fit available openings. That approach allowed employers to make faster hiring decisions and helped job seekers move more quickly from job search to employment.

According to DOLE, the job fairs are more than routine recruitment events, but are actually direct employment interventions and government-backed platforms that link workers to vacancies.

Officials said the fairs helped employers reach large pools of candidates in one venue and gave applicants a chance to complete shorter application processes and secure immediate placement.

The agency said the results showed that job fairs continue to serve as an effective hiring channel, especially for companies seeking to fill vacancies quickly and for workers looking for faster access to decent and productive employment.

DOLE said it will continue using job fairs as part of its broader strategy to strengthen labor market connections and expand employment opportunities across industries.
