BARCELONA, Spain, March 3, 2026 — Accenture has agreed to acquire Ookla, a leader in network intelligence and connectivity insights, to help enterprises, communications service providers and hyperscalers improve network performance, strengthen customer experiences and support AI-driven operations.

Ookla is best known for platforms including Speedtest, Downdetector, Ekahau, and RootMetrics, which provide visibility into internet performance, outage detection, Wi-Fi optimization and network benchmarking. Accenture plans to integrate these capabilities into its broader data and AI services to help clients monitor connectivity, identify issues earlier and reduce disruptions across digital services.

“Modern networks have evolved from simple infrastructure into business-critical platforms,” Julie Sweet, chair and CEO of Accenture, said. “Without the ability to measure performance, organizations cannot optimize experience, revenue or security. By acquiring Ookla, we will help our clients across business and government scale AI safely and build the trusted data foundations they need to deliver the reliable, seamless connectivity that creates value.”

As organizations continue to expand digital, omnichannel and AI-enabled services, network performance has become increasingly important to customer satisfaction, operational resilience and business decision-making. Latency, uptime and signal strength now directly affect everything from transactions and service delivery to employee productivity and brand trust.

“In an era of omnichannel and agentic access, low-latency, zero-friction connectivity is a competitive necessity, and these tools give enterprises the power to build the high-performance environments they need,” said Manish Sharma, Accenture’s chief strategy and services officer.

The acquisition reflects growing demand for network-level data as a strategic business asset. Across industries, enterprises are using network intelligence to support a wide range of use cases, including fraud detection and device verification in banking, mobile checkout and inventory performance in retail, and proactive service delivery in utilities and smart home services.

Ookla’s platform captures more than 1,000 performance attributes per test across devices, applications and networks, and processes more than 250 million consumer-initiated tests each month. Accenture said these capabilities will enhance its ability to help clients build more resilient digital environments and make better-informed decisions using real-time operational insights.

“Joining Accenture will allow us to scale our premiere network data business across the world’s largest enterprises and accelerate our goal of creating better connected experiences,” said Stephen Bye, president and CEO of Ookla. “Our combined capabilities will enable us to more effectively serve CSPs, AI infrastructure providers, edge data centers and enterprise networks.”

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions, including required regulatory approvals.
